Our last Scholastic Book Fair of the school year is 5/22/18 through 5/25/18. This fair is Buy One Get One Free and is the perfect opportunity to stock up for summer reading. All inventory (books, posters, supplies, craft kits) is included in the BOGO promotion. Book Fair is open before school, during lunch, and after school.

Do you want to have a say on who the next principal should be? Well, you can. Please fill out this survey. Survey results and comments will be forwarded to the District Office. They will be used to determine questions that help assess the applicant’s fit for the unique needs of our school.

Young Rembrandt Drawing Classes
The Young Rembrandt drawing/cartooning class will start Feb 7- March 28 on Wednesday’s from 3:00 – 4:00pm. Click here to register (download flyer).
If your child goes to Adventure Time, you can also adjust your schedule so they know to pick up at 4 pm at school and you won’t get charged for that time (2:50-4:00 pm). They will bring kindergartners to school at 2:50 pm prior to a class starting also.
STEAM Enrichment Class
We are excited to announce our after-school STEAM enrichment class which will begin on February 19th from 3-4 pm (download flyer). Space is limited. The Winter Book Fair is Feb 15th through Feb 23rd. Opening night will be at the Open House on Thursday, February 15th from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. See the following link to sign up for available volunteer spots. We can’t have any activities without your help. Please consider volunteering.
Ticket order forms will go home with your child any day now. Please fill these out and turn them into the office by Friday, February 23rd. Please see all open volunteer spots in the following sign up genius link. Anyone that volunteers for the dance will receive free admission to the dance. If volunteering, please write volunteer in parentheses beside your name and do not calculate a $10 admission fee for yourself. This applies to any middle or high student that volunteers as well. Hello amazing donors and volunteers. Today we received a special delivery. Our 5 year old was amazed that santa’s elves brought us a tree, so now it “really IS” Christmas with a tree and a feast and everything!
We cannot tell you how blessed we are and how magical this has made Christmas for our daughter. Despite Daddy being hurt and Mommy working too much, it is still “Christmas” and the magic of Christmas is very much alive.
Please send our utmost thanks and gratitude to all the volunteers, donors, and amazing people that have made Christmas come to our house this year in such a magical way. God Bless you all and we pray that next year we will be able to return the love to another family.

Place your unwrapped gift by the Christmas tree in the library by December 19th.
Remember to tag your gift to identity your gift recipient. Include the family number, age and gender. Snowman gift tags are available by the Christmas tree, if needed.
Gift cards should be dropped off at the school office for safekeeping. Write the family number, age and gender on the envelop to identify your gift card’s recipient. Any monetary donations to be used for this gift drive should also be dropped off at the school office.
Santa’s elves will wrap gifts and sort gifts to prepare for pickup or delivery. If you are interested in wrapping gifts or delivering gifts, please contact Nina Wallkvist at firstname.lastname@example.org

Castro Valley Outreach – 2017 Thanksgiving Food Drive
Castro Valley Outreach’s Thanksgiving Food Drive, which served 125 families from our community last year, will again collect non-perishable items for families in need this year. Each grade level is requested to bring any of the following non-perishable and unexpired items to school from Monday, November 6th to Friday, November 17th.
Stuffing (box or bag)
Canned green beans
Boxed Dessert Mixes
Canned mixed vegetables
Aluminum roasting pans
*Please check expiration dates as expired food cannot be accepted!
The balance of the menu is perishable and will be purchased by our Castro Valley Outreach volunteers. To create a well-rounded holiday meal for our families, we also need gift cards in any denomination from Safeway, Lucky or Trader Joe’s. Please leave gift cards in the Office for safe keeping.
Anyone wishing to write a check to “Castro Valley Outreach” can also leave the check in the Office. Cash donations are tax deductible and you will receive a thank you letter. What a great way to show our children what we all have to be thankful for. Reach out and help others. Give what is right not what is left!

The Castro Valley Chipotle, located at 3369 Castro Valley Blvd, will sponsor Jensen Ranch Elementary PTA from 5-9pm on Friday, 11/3. Eat at Chipotle and show them this flyer during these hours and they will donate 50% of proceeds to Jensen Ranch. So tell all your friends and families. Gift cards purchased at Chipotle during these hours do not count toward our fundraising efforts. However, gift cards purchased through the PTA beforehand can be used towards the fundraiser and bring in an additional 10% rebate. That means, for every $10 spent that night, $6 will return to Jensen Ranch PTA.
The PTA will purchase some Chipotle gift cards and presell them before the event outside the MPR on Friday, October 13th before Friday Flag. We may sell a few more Fridays before 11/3. So please check back.
